Our environmental policy

Sustainable development is central to our business. Rather than a goal, it’s more a different way of doing things. CyT UK plays a key role in the company’s global sustainable development programme.

From Bonterra and Cono Sur's organic winemaking programme and Carbon Neutral Delivery status to Palo Alto’s links with tree-planting charities around the world and Viña Concha y Toro’s ground-breaking water footprint measurement, the brands which we distribute are all committed to reducing their impact on the environment.

Working with industry partners

CyT UK is a signatory of the Courtauld Commitment 2. WRAP’s responsibility deal aimed at improving resource efficiency and reducing carbon and the wider environmental impact of the grocery sector. We really strongly believe that the drinks and food industry must work together and take joint responsibility to reduce our collective impact on the environment.

Lightweight bottles

By switching their core global brands to lighter weight eco-glass bottles, Viña Concha y and Viña Cono Sur have significantly reduced their energy consumption and emissions incurred through exports. The UK’s No.1 and No2 Chilean brands, Casillero del Diablo and Isla Negra are both bottled in eco-glass. Exactly the same performance and premium look – just 11% lighter in weight.
