Cono Sur launches limited edition labels to celebrate cycling tie up

Pinot-Noir-Eliza-Southwood-Label-sm.jpgCono Sur, whose Bicicleta range includes the UK’s best-selling branded Pinot Noir, is proud to announce the launch of a Limited Edition cycling-themed label across the range from the summer.

The Bicicleta range is named in tribute to the workers at Cono Sur who traverse the vineyards by bike.  Cono Sur has commissioned leading cycling artist, Eliza Southwood, to create a selection of exclusive prints to feature on the labels.  The limited edition labels celebrate Cono Sur as the Official Wine of Le Tour de France 2016.

Dan Featherstone, Marketing Manager for Cono Sur in the UK, says
“We were looking for a way to build on the buzz which has grown up around our involvement with the Tour de France and cycling in general. Once we’d met with Eliza and seen her beautiful artwork, we knew we wanted to do something together.
“The imagery evokes the scenery of the great cycle races, but also the Chilean landscapes where the grapes are grown – a nice parallel.”
 There are 7 versions of the label, colour coded to match the different varietals. The wines in their limited edition livery will be on shelf from mid-June in leading retailers.

In total there will be some 1.5 million bottles of Bicicleta wines in the limited edition designs.
