There have been a number of great recommendations for our wines in UK press recently.
Matthew Jukes in the Daily Mail featured Cono Sur Bicicleta Riesling, saying it "lacks nothing in impact and depth of aroma and flavour. Grab this wine if you are cooking up a coconut milk-based curry sauce as the lime and ginger nuances in this wine will be utterly sensational with this style of cuisine regardless of whether it is fish, seafood, chicken or veggie themed.”
Meanwhile Will Lyons in the Sunday Times is also a fan of the new Bicicleta, and in a piece about Chilean wines to watch out for, says
“Produced in the Colchagua Valley south of Santiago, this Riesling is light and refreshing, with aromatic floral notes, a little citrus and a silky finish.”
Will also chose the Marques de Casa Concha Chardonnay 2017 calling it
“A very impressive Chardonnay that showcases the elegant, clean taste of wines from the Limari Valley, one of the northernmost vinicultural regions. It’s soft and well balanced, with ripe pear and tropical fruit on the palate – a fine pairing for smoked salmon”
Last but not least, Jane MacQuitty in the Times wrote about good value Pinot Noir, and recommended Cono Sur Bicicleta Pinot Noir, describing it as "surprisingly classy Chilean pinot noir”. She also recommends the Corte Marcelo Limari Pinot Noir available from the Wine Society, saying “check out the 2019 Concha y Toro Corte Marcelo Pinot Noir from the cool Limari region, with lashings of black cherry and mocha spice."
